Český Krumlov is located in the Southern Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
If you remember, this time last year we were in Marienbad, Czech Republic and I fractured my foot. We had a such a nice time (other than the purple looking foot) that we decided to go to the Czech Republic again for this holiday weekend. We chose Český Krumlov as our friends, The Derbyshire's, cycled through there last year on their annual cycling trip and said it was really worth a visit. We rented an apartment just outside the Altstadt (old town). And they were right, what a beautiful little town and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The architecture was amazing and the castle on the hill wonderful.

One of 'the' things to do in the area is to rent a raft or canoe and paddle down the Vltava River. Looks like great fun. We didn't do it, but next time we will for sure.

Prior to going I had some homework and we drove to Hluboká and Vltavou to visit this amazing fairytale castle -
Hluboká - originally built in the second half of the 13th Century. It is considered to be the most beautiful castle in the Czech Republic.

We also found a small brewery, called Glockner Hostinský pivovar. It is located at a golf course and we had an amazing lunch.

The Czech Republic is an amazing country. It beautiful, the people are friendly and the prices are right! It is a place to return to many times.
